Ola Williams

July 4, 1923 — January 16, 2014

Mrs. Ola B. Williams was born the third child of three to Eddy and Bea Ella Woods.  A native of Anderson County, she spent her childhood and formative years in Palestine, Texas.  She was educated in Palestine public schools, graduating from Lincoln High School.

At a young age she moved to the Dallas Community and began work as a Domestic Engineer. She had a long and fruitful career in this field while affecting many lives. Ola established many extended family affiliations; many of whom became lifetime relationships.  She joined Zion Travelers Baptist Church under the pastorate of Pastor J. W. Batty and served faithfully in many areas. Her greatest joy was serving as an Usher and working with the Women?s Mission as she continued faithfully under the tutelage of current Pastor R. C. Pritchet until her death.

On October 11, 1975, she joined Grady Lee Williams in holy matrimony. This union remained faithful until his death on March 9, 1989.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Eddy and Bea Ella  Woods; her brother, Odell Woods; her sister and brother-in-law, Eddie and Paul Lacy Sr.; two children:  Norman Casey and Janet Champaign.

She leaves to cherish her memory a host of grandchildren, great-grand children, nephews and nieces, surrogate sons and daughters, many friends and loved ones.
