Pamala Joyce Jones Allen was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was known for her quick wit, piercing logic, common sense, voracious reading, passion for internet gaming, movies, and shopping, fierce integrity, and “don’t take no mess from anyone” attitude. She was a force to be reckoned with in a petite package. She also was a very giving and caring person who showed no favoritism. Most importantly, she loved to learn and share her knowledge to empower those whose lives she touched. She truly was a phenomenal woman who will be missed, never forgotten, and always loved.
The eldest daughter of the late Louis Edmond Jones and Salena Jones McGill, Pamala Joyce was born on November 10, 1948 in Collin County, McKinney, Texas. Early in life she accepted Christ and was a member of the First Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas. She received her education at E. S. Doty High School and McKinney High School. During this time, she married her high school sweetheart, Samuel Allen, and was blessed with three children. Pamala Joyce also completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. Later, she completed studies in medicine at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine in Antigua and Barbuda. She spent her professional career as a pre-school teacher, social worker, a nursing science instructor, and as a registered nurse certified practitioner for nearly forty years before retirement. In her personal life she was a team mom, a PTA member, a political party volunteer, a small business woman, and a “go to” problem solver for anyone who asked, whether it was a relative, a stranger or a friend.
On March 10, 2015, Pamala Joyce quietly moved on and away from all earthly pain. She was recently preceded in death by her grandmother, Wilmerine Davis Howard.
