Pastor Add Moddon was born on May 28, 1928, in Honey
Island, Texas to Robert and Celie Moddon.
Add accepted Christ at God’s Holy Temple Full Gospel Church
in 1975 under Rev. Bobby Pearson and then joined Holy Cross
Church of God in Christ and later joined Galilee Church of God
in Christ. Add and his wife Dorothy began started their ministry
at Lively Stone Church of God in Christ in November, 1995
where Add Moddon was the Pastor until he became ill in
October, 2017.
Add attended Honey Island Schools, Saintsville Church of God
in Christ College Branch and received his Ministers License in
1993. Add was united in marriage to Dorothy Mae Finley
Moddon on October 18, 1950 in Kountze, TX and to this union
5 daughters and 3 sons were born. Add and his family moved
from Liberty, TX to Dallas, Texas in the late 60’s were he and
his wife built a life together with over 67 years of marriage.
Add worked at Gifford Hill, City of Dallas, PM Press,
Alexander Garden Center, Mesquite ISD Security / Crossing
Guard after retirement and resided in Mesquite, TX.
Add departed this life on April 10, 2018, surrounded by his wife
Dorothy Moddon, children, grandchildren, family, friends,
neighbors and Chaplin Terry Maze of Kindred Hospice.

Moddon, eight children Shirley, Johnny (Sandra) Rose
Katharyn, Sandra Gail, David Sr. (LaWanda), Cynthia (Mark
Tuck Sr. Deceased), Richard, Doretha (Sam). Twenty-three
grandchildren Darian, Taletha, Steven Jr. (Jonetta), Jabari,
Jonika, Marcus (Ayana), Nyiesha, Jontisha, Saundra, LaSonja,
Kara, LaMetra (Darrell), LaGail (Joe Ivy Sr.), Jeremi, Jamaric
(Shay), David Jr., Courtney, Daviana, Christian Blake, Tiva
(Chad), Mark Jr. (Tasha) and 2 grand dogs Milo and Cookie
Bella.
Thirty-six Great Grand Children and 3 Great Great Great
Children.
In-Laws were John Finley (Marilyn), Doshie Hunter (Supt. R.
Hunter deceased).
Add is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Celie
Moddon and all of his siblings. Brothers - George, L.C., Johnny,
Eugene, Sam. Sisters - Melvina, Ella Mae, Parie and Mable
Lee. One Great, Great Great Grand Child David James Jones.
In-Laws - Wyatt Finley (Florine), Elzora Finley Polk, Vinnie
Finley Manzay (William).
Add had many hobbies that he REALLY loved. He played
Semi-Pro Baseball, enjoyed going to Texas Rangers Baseball
games, fishing, taking the family to the Ringling Brothers
Circus, Galveston Beach and working on his cars. Add also
loved taking his children to pro wrestling matches. Add loved
watching all sports on his big screen TV and his favorite shows
to watch were classic westerns - Gun Smoke, Rifleman and Big
Valley while eating popcorn balls made by his wife Dorothy.
