RUBY JEWEL DAVIS HILL was born January 11, 1932 in Rowlett Texas to Aaron and Effie Davis. She attended grade school at The Coloured School in Rockwall, Texas and Booker T. Washington in Dallas, Texas. She held many jobs in her time, to include housekeeping for Garland Memorial Hospital, personal house cleaning. She also worked at Scott Sandwich Shop and Garland laundry and Cleaners.
Ruby was a member of Sims Chapel Baptist Church, she sang in the choir and was an usher at Glorious Victory Church, and Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Garland, Texas.
Ruby Hill is preceded in death by her parents Aaron and Effie Davis as well as her husband Elijah Hill, oldest son Billy Ray Young Jr., her sister, Hazel Douglas; brothers, Joe Davis, Eugene Davis, Oran Davis, and Edward "Jack" Davis.
Ruby leaves many behind to cherish her memory. Her younger son Edward Young (Ocleta) of Killeen, Texas. Her nephew Howard Douglas of Garland, Texas. Five Grand Daughters Danielle Young of Missouri, US Army SGT Evelyn Antwine Jewel Johnson (Eric) of El Paso Tx., US Army SGT Jonell Antwine Marie Buford (Dominique) Korea, Ocleta Antwine Allenette Young of El Paso Tx. Courtney Larah Young of Killeen Tx. 5 Great Grand Children Jayton, D'Anthony, Jayla, Samuel, and Evyn, a host of great and great grand nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as many lifelong friends, Sis Betty Jean Giddens Battle and Bertha Wallace, Lena Jones and Maud Hay, Debra Chester, and Sis Margarine Terry just to name a few.
