Samyika Anderson, 44, passed away on August 27, 2024 at U.T. Southwestern Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She was born on October 12, 1979 in Dallas, Texas to Sammy Anderson and Annette Anderson. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church.

Samyika grew up in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Justin F. Kimball High School. After high school she entered into the workforce and began working for various companies as a Customer Service Representative for many years. She went on to pursue a career in the financial industry with the Internal Revenue Service. She was actively involved in the community with raising awareness and helping to raise funds for research and seeking a cure for Sickle Cell Anemia. She was also actively involved for many years with the Sickle Cell Consortium and participated in the 5k walks for the cause. She is the founder of the 12:12 Foundation Inc. which was created June 2019 that provides assistance and support to single parents living with or have a child with a chronic illness such as Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Anemia. Samyika was a free spirit with a kind heart that touched the lives of so many people. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones laughing, joking and having a good time. She loved traveling and having new experiences and new adventures. She was so full of life! Samyika had a personality that positively impacted those around her. Her presence was well known even after she’d left the room. She had an infectious smile and laughter that we will all remember. 

Samyika was preceded in death by her mother, Annette Anderson; grandparents, Freddie Mae and Morton Scott; sister, Charlotte Anderson.

Those left to cherish Samyika memories are her father, Sammy Anderson (Wanda); children, LaMya Alford, LaMyrion Alford, Kayla Satchel; siblings, Kyfaney Anderson, Dameyen Anderson, Chantynique Anderson; nieces, Alexia Harris, Samyriya Anderson, Alayah Anderson, Mylani Anderson; nephews, Seneca Anderson (Kelsa), Ar’Majah Davis (Tara), Jabarion Brown (Krystal), Andre Thompson Jr., Quintrel Anderson, Keshun Anderson and a multitude of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends too numerous to name.

Funeral service for Samyika will be held at Lincoln Funeral Home, 8100 Fireside Drive, Dallas, Texas at on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 12PM with interment to follow at Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation at Lincoln Funeral Home, 8100 Fireside Drive, Dallas, Texas on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 5-7PM.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude for the outpouring of kindness, and compassion we have received during this difficult time.
