Was born August 9, 1940 to parents Gussie and Lawrence Perry, in McKinney, Texas. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sister.
Shirley received the Lord early in life and worshiped at Without Limits Christian Center and resided in New Bern, N.C. She had a deep and passionate love for the Lord our God. Her humble spirit, loving nature allowed her to never meet a stranger and she passed that gift on to her children. She loved so unconditionally with a heart of gold, yet reigned as a fierce lioness to protect them.
Shirley was a loving wife to Ralph Simmons, mother to Cynthia Schultz, Thomas McGee (Tonya), Dedra Dawson (Konrad), Kimberly McGee, Angela German (Michael) and DeShanna McGee. She was grandmother to 9 and had 8 great grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
There is a gulf that stands between the world we know and, an unseen God loaned you to us for a short while, but has since called you home. Your pain is no more and now you are free to walk on gold, jasper, and reside by the crystal sea.
God called you home and your spirit said, “Yes Lord”. You will be missed dearly, but we won’t say goodbye. We will just say see you later Mother.
