Susan Brown, our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend was one of a kind. Her personality was bigger than life! She loved with her whole heart and that love was unconditional. She was the most forgiving person I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her family held a very special place in her heart, especially her children, and her friends became a part of her family as well.
Susan loved taking care of people. It was her calling, and she did it better than anyone I know. She worked as a private-duty nurse for over 30-yrs. She fiercely loved her patients and would do anything to protect them, and they loved her with the same passion. They became a part of our family as well. She had to retire when her own health began to deteriorate several years ago. It was one of the saddest days of her life.
Susan had a passion for cooking and was the best cook in our family. She opened her home and her heart to one and all. Everyone looked forward to enjoying any number of her specialties and there were many. Cooking for others was one of the ways she expressed her love.
Susan's other passions were garage-saling, estate sales, thrift stores, resale stores, and Asian shops. Susan loved Asian culture and often endearingly said that she was part Asian. Anyone who's ever been to her home believes that too.
Susan was generous to a fault. She was not motivated by money. She would share it with anyone who needed it and she often did. She was one of the most generous persons I've ever known next to our mother.
Susan was also quite comical. Her sense of humor was unparalleled. She would have us in stitches with tears streaming down our faces. She loved to laugh, and she did so easily and often.
Susan's faith in God was unshakable. Susan experienced a great deal of pain and sorry in her lifetime but through it all, she never lost faith. The steadfastness of her faith brought many of us to Jesus because we wanted to experience the peace that Susan exuded.
I wish everyone could have had a Susan Brown in their life. We have been richly blessed by her presence. She will be forever missed and always in our hearts and memory.
Godspeed, my sweet sister. We will always love you!
