Velma Taylor was born to the union of the late Marshall and Tommie Dorsey in Henderson, Texas and was the youngest girl of 22 siblings. Sister Taylor accepted Christ and was a faithful member of New Morning Star Baptist Church in West Dallas until her health begin to fail.
Velma united in matrimony with Lee Taylor, September 22, 1945 who preceded her in death.
