Walter was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served as a Marine. Born and raised in Dallas, to Jessie McKinney Freeman and Walter Freeman Sr. a graduate of Roosevelt High School Class of 1968. A retiree from the City of Dallas and previously retired from Minyards. Jr. loved to hate the Cowboys, enjoyed music and gaming. During his youth he was a magnet for trouble and mischief with his faithful neighborhood friends. He was a fierce defender of his family, boastful and animated during spades and ready with a sharp comeback. He evolved as a son, brother, uncle, father, husband and fierce friend to live a life well lived. He will be missed. God Speed Uncle Walter.
Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his parents Jessie Freeman, Walter Freeman Sr., sister Nina Freeman Mangrum, son Patrick Majors and former wife Rosliard Freeman. Survived by three daughters: Rachel Wyatt, Sharonda Freeman Jones and Kametra Freeman Lawrence (Woodie). He also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Victoria Jones, Aaron Shofner, Hali Shofner, Brea Freeman, Jazmyne Freeman, Christina Jones, TreVon Freeman and Chyna Jones six great grandchildren: Christopher Richard, Saint Shofner, Aaron Shofner Jr., Sunday McElroy, Nirvana McElroy and Cymir Conley. Four siblings: one brother Ivan Freeman (Lillian), three sisters Gloria, Geraldine and Cheryl Freeman. A 90-year-old great Aunt Geraldine Petty and many nieces and nephews. Two special friends Jeff Jefferson and Debra Cox.
