Willie Welcome Wess was born June 7, 1931 in Homer, Louisiana. He spent time living with his grandfather Wyatt Wess. There were three siblings: sister, Autra Mae; brothers Robert and Joseph West.
He moved to Dallas at the age of 17. Willie met Irene Walker in 1949. They were married for 60 years.
Willie worked for Dresser Industry until he retired. After retirement, he owned and operated Wess Parking in Dallas, Texas.
He was a long standing member of The Church of the Living God, Temple 73 where he was a trustee for many years.
He is survived by brother, Joseph West, Los Angeles, CA; daughters, Olinza Z. Jackson,; Eurener Lachon Harris and Keia Tull; great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
